Here are a few views of one of the new paintings. Untitled (Encounter in a Foyer), 2007, egg tempera, gold leaf, and silverpoint over casein on panel, 16 x 20 inches.

The subject of this blog is to provide a little inside view to my studio: to follow the progress of an egg tempera painting as it moves from initial sketch to finished painting, to give a look at various projects I'm working on, and to share other visual bloviations that I hope might be interesting.

Dennis, as always very interesting painting. I would love to see these up close to get a sense of the scale. Thanks for the close-up views.
Alex,
Thanks again for visiting. This painting's still pretty small: 16 x 20. Sorry about the crappy photo quality, by the way, even on the details. I shot them in poor light and had to adjust pretty heavily in Photoshop, before framing and sending away to the exhibition. When it returns I'll try to get better photos and replace on the page.
Better yet, come on over to Atlanta this Thursday and you can see them at the reception!
Best wishes, D.
